Raya Looks featuring Keera!

Annyeong Altheans! Raya is just around the corner, and it's the time of fun, festivities, food and spending time with your loved ones. So you've selected your outfits, but have you thought about your makeup yet? We've worked with an Althean and fellow beauty enthusiast Keera of @keeracakedherface to create two looks for this Raya season. Here's the beauty breakdown on them, plus a chance to win some Althea credits too!

Known for her creative looks on Instagram, Keera is a fun and sweet makeup enthusiast that loves all things K-beauty! For Raya, she's was inspired by our collaboration with BCL and used the Sunrise and Moonrise palette to create two looks aptly named after the two moods of the palette. The Sunrise look was fresh, sweet and perfect for those of us keen on a simple but put together makeup look, while the Moonrise look was glamorous, sultry and chic, ideal for those of us who are feeling extra this Raya. How did you get into K-beauty?

When I was 21, I went to Korea and I saw a picture of Red Velvet, which inspired me to try their makeup style. Initially I wasn't planning on buying any cosmetics back, but after seeing that picture, I told myself I should try some stuff while I was there. This started my deep dive into trying out makeup and eventually skincare that I grew to love!

What was your inspiration for these looks?

I was inspired by the palette, as well as how Asians usually wear their makeup. The first look was made to suit people who don't really want to wear heavy makeup or deal with lashes as we tend to move around a lot and sweat during Raya, so this is a good low maintenance makeup look. It can also be worn as an everyday look too, and probably my go-to style. The second look was made for the bolder girls who like more color in their look. People usually tend to use browns, however I thought the purple and maroon shades in the Sunrise and Moonrise palette was really pretty so I really wanted to create something incorporating those colors.

If you had to pick one Althea product to be your favorite, what would it be?

I love the Watercolor Cream Tints! I love everything about them. I can use them as blush, as lipstick, and even on the eyes as they're great multitasking products. Plus, the shades are also my jam!
