To test how fast the delivery takes compared to the ones directly from Korea, I have decided to take a set myself. The order made was on 10th October, which falls on a Saturday. The parcel was delivered to me on 14th October, which is on a Wednesday. It took just 3 working days to arrive rather than a standard week or more! Get your hands on these lovely babies!

Today we want to take the time to share a bit more about our #AltheaTurns5 birthday celebration. If you have seen the birthday page on www.althea.kr then you know how cute these limited edition boxes are. Every year our birthday boxes are extremely popular and highly sought after! Have you tried Althea’s Milk Peel Cream Mask? It’s clay to foam exfoliant and mask (talking about dual personality much). I have been a faithful follower after 1 bottle and have repurchased 3 times. Let’s dive a little bit into the ingredients:

How To Use?

Water (Aqua), Kaolin, Glycerin, Disiloxane, Bentonite, Propanediol, Myristic Acid, Methyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, Stearic Acid, Methyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Potassium Hydroxide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Palmitic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Milk Protein Extract, Disodium EDTA, Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Leaf Extract, Gluconolactone, Glycolic Acid, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Fragrance (Parfum), Coumarin*, Hexyl Cinnamal*, Citronellol*

Kaolin and Bentonite	Clays that help absorb excess sebum
Milk Protein Extract	Contains amino acids that help hydrate and soothe the skin
Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen Leaf Extract)	Contains BHA that deeply exfoliate pores and regulate sebum secretion
Gluconolactone	PHA that gently exfoliates and also acts as an antioxidant
Glycolic Acid	AHA that exfoliates dead skin cells and hydrates

Ingredients & Benefits

In terms of texture, it has a very soft and smooth feel that spreads out easily. Think of softened butter, but 1000 times lighter. It does not have a strong scent and its smell reminds me of baby’s formula. When spread on the skin, it takes about 30 seconds to transform to a foam (imagine unbaked meringue), which you then leave on for 1 to 3 minutes. I usually need and recommend 1-minute max, for those who have sensitive skin. For oilier skin types, you can experiment with longer leave-on time.

After 1 minute, I proceed to rinse the product off and notice that my skin is immediately softer and smoother to touch. Also, my skin does not feel uncomfortably tight as I would with other exfoliants out there. On a scale of 1 to 5 on skin tightness, 1 being least and 5 very tight, I would give this a 1.

I have been using this product on a daily basis and it did not dry my skin out nor did it irritate my skin. The small bumps that I get on my forehead reduced significantly (in terms of size and quantity) and when I stopped using it, the bumps came back. Also, the blackheads on my nose as well as the pores reduced in appearance and visibility. For the gents, I would strongly recommend you to use it before shaving as it helps reduce ingrown hairs, as I did notice before shaving my facial hair.

The downside to this wonderful product would be the packaging. It comes in a vacuum pump bottle which is great for dispensing products until the very last pump. However, it does not consistently dispense product in the first few pumps and the last few pumps. I have experienced this in at least 2, of their packaging. The only fix I did was to knock the product on the sink top, inverted, to get the product pumped out. Hoping that they fix this and make this the ultimate product in their collection.

Great for all skin types, I really do hope that you guys and girls give this a try and I am sure you’ll love it, even for you sensitive peeps out there!

“Acid” becomes all the rage skincare beauty word. It is the go-to word to search for your beauty needs for whatever skin problems you have.

One "Holy Grail" of anti-aging ingredient is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid has the structure of acid but it is not an exfoliating acid.

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin using a chemical, granular substance, or exfoliation tool.

Why Hyaluronic Acid should be in your skincare routine?

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid is to retain water to keep your tissues well lubricated and moist.  It is really a good ingredient to have in your skincare products for every skin type.  Hydration and moisturize skin is much healthier and reduce other skin problems.  After all, skin ability to heal becomes slower than snail if your skin is dry along with sort of other problems such as wrinkles or fine lines appearing before you are even 40.

There are 3 types of hyaluronic acid

1. hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid
2. sodium acetylated hyaluronate
3. sodium hyaluronate

You don’t need all three to appear in all your skincare products.  I prefer sodium hyaluronate though.  Hyaluronic acid in your skincare will make sure that the products are not drying for your skin.
